Quick answer: Past the first hour, GeraCity rewards four things: district design with tight service clusters, supply-chain loops that chain farm-to-table to GeraRide, transit unlocks timed to population milestones (2k, 8k, 25k), and saving GeraCoins for endgame multipliers rather than buying aesthetic upgrades.

1. District design: zone by function

Residential, commercial, and industrial zones have different service-radius needs. Clump each type into districts of 15-25 tiles. Services in the district centre reach everything. Spreading blocks pays overhead in roads and emergency-response time.

2. The 3-2-1 service rule

For every 100 citizens: 3 hospitals (overlap circles), 2 schools, 1 police / fire substation each. Above 70% happiness this ratio doubles GeraCoin accrual.

3. Supply-chain loops

Farm → GeraEats → GeraRide hub → residential zone. Each completed loop triggers a +5% happiness buff city-wide and doubles commercial revenue for 24 real hours. Build at least two independent loops before scaling past 5k citizens.

4. Transit unlock timing

Bus hub at 2k, light rail at 8k, metro at 25k. Do not unlock early — maintenance costs drain your treasury if the demand is not there. Unlock late and commute times crater your happiness.

5. Event windows

Weekly events (Street Festival, Opening Ceremony, Harvest Fair) triple GeraCoin earnings. Time your largest zoning expansions to coincide. You can earn a full month's GeraCoins in one well-timed 48-hour window.

6. Export routes

Once you have a second city (yours or a friend's), export goods. Exports pay in real GeraCoins redeemable on GeraEats, GeraMarket, GeraRide and other Gera services. This is the main cross-over from play money to actual Gera discounts.

7. Endgame: the Gera Tower

The 10,000-GeraCoin Gera Tower applies a +50% service efficiency multiplier city-wide — the only endgame unlock that matters. Save for it. Do not spend on cosmetics until Tower is up.
